Hank Wood & the Hammerheads: Go Home 12" (new)

At least in my circles, I think the debut LP from Hank Wood & the Hammerheads was even more hotly anticipated than the Crazy Spirit LP. While I still give CS the edge in the all-important contest for "Sorry State's favorite NYC band," this LP is a stone-cold crusher. Like Crazy Spirit, the riffs here are deceptively simple, yet insanely memorable, while the rhythm section chugs along with an almost "sexy" vibe. Throw in some HARD vox from main man Hank Wood and a blown-to-s***, barely-functioning farfisa organ playing incredible one-finger melodies and you have a f***ing GEM. Highly recommended... this is one of those records that you'll be seeing on a LOT of year-end best-of lists. Toxic State Records
