Night Birds: The Other Side of Darkness 12"
Finally, one of my most anticipated records of the year is here! Night Birds' debut LP takes everything you loved about their singles and ramps it up to 11... while there were definitely standout tracks on the singles ("Killer Waves," "Bad Biology," etc.), EVERY track here rips just as hard as the last. Seriously, there is no dead weight here whatsoever. If you like catchy, blistering punk in the west coast style (think bands like the Adolescents, Angry Samoans, and Authorities... you know, the "A" section) you're not going to do better than this any time soon. An absolute scorcher and a shoe-in for my best of 2011 list. Grave Mistake Records
