Warrior Tribes: 7" Outtakes and 2016 Demo cassette

New cassette release from this killer Chicago HC band. In the vein of the midwest classics.

Our take: New cassette from this Chicago hardcore band, combining a few outtakes from their recently-released 7‰۝ (which I‰۪d also recommend you pick up) with tracks from a new recording session. To me, Warrior Tribes sound like pure midwestern hardcore. Vocal duties are shared between two singers, one of whom has a gruffer style reminiscent of Steve from 86 Mentality, giving those songs a tougher edge that reminds me of Punch in the Face or something like that, while the other singer has a shout-y style that gives those songs more of a classic midwest, Articles of Faith / Mecht Mensch kind of feel. All of the songs are dense, complex, and well-written, but with an avoidance of flashiness that just seems right for a band working outside the spotlight of the major media centers. They even finish things up with a killer cover of ‰ÛÏMob Clash‰۝ by the Effigies.
